敦賀市立博物館(旧大和田銀行本店)

敦賀駅から徒歩20分程度でアクセスできます

駐車場も大きくはないですがありました

私は氣比神宮に行ってから当博物館を訪問しました

町中をゆっくり歩きながら散策も良いです

威厳のある玄関です

今の銀行もこんな雰囲気だったら、入るのをためらいそうですね

カウンターに仕切りがあり、防犯対策がなされています

この重厚な質感が良いですね

The Marble Stair / The Lighting

この建物には階段が東西2カ所あり、西側の階段は大理石が用いられています。

また、カウンターの外と内に登り口を持たせるなど、利用者の動線に配慮した工夫もみられます。

カーペットを固定している金具は、一部当初の物を残しています。

また、照明の笠は残されたガラスの笠を再利用して、一部足りないものはアクリルで新しく作製し、復原しています。

The staircases were built considering the flowing line of customers. On the first floor, a staircase was built on the eastern as well as the western side, and the staircase built on the western side had feet both in front and back of the marble counter.

When the bank was operational, the stairs were covered with luxurious tiles and carpets. Ceiling lights are covered with glass shades-six of which are original, while others are replicas.

The Bank Vault

銀行の心臓部とも言える大金庫は、厚い壁で覆われ、 丈夫な耐火式の扉を備えています。

上部にある小さな扉は、大きい扉が開かなくなった時のための予備の扉です。

中にある金庫も頑丈で大変重いものなので、この場所に設置して保管しています。

また、この建物は地下にもう一つ大金庫を備えています(非公開)。

The bank vault was the most important room in Owada Bank because the money deposited by customers was placed in the vault to ensure its security. To ensure safety (the money was placed in strongboxes), the vault has thick walls and a thick floor, and a heavy and fire-proof door.

Additionally, the vault's structure had a small emergency door above the main door as a means to create an alternative entrance in case the vault's main door got locked unintentionally.

The Reception Room

この部屋はかつて、銀行だけでなく、敦賀に来た賓客をもてなす部屋として設けられました。

テーブルやチェアなどの調度品には統一したデザインが施され、格調高く仕上げられています。

建物の修復工事中に建設当初使われてい た壁布や絨毯が見つかったため、より忠実な復原を目指しました。絨毯と壁布は実物を分析して復原しています。テーブル、ソファー、そしてキャビネットは建物に残されていたものをそのまま展示しています。

The reception room was used for the guests of the bank. Owada Bank officials used this room to entertain business guests as well as those who visited Tsuruga for other purposes. The interior of this room was tasteful with elegant furniture: a table, a sofa, and a cabinet. These original pieces used in the Owada Bank are exhibited. Additionally, the original wall- paper and carpet were rep- licated by using the same pro- duction techniques used at that time.

The Public Hall 

漆喰装飾のアーチを備えた舞台のある3階の講堂は、かつて公会堂としての役割を担っており、市民の文化活動や子ども向けの行事などに利用されていました。

アーチ上部の時計は、他の部屋のものと同様に1階銀行室の親時計(現存せず)に連動して動く小時計で、ドイツのアルゲマイネー社製です。

また、柱の巻金物は、よく見ると1階の柱の物とは凹凸が逆になっていることがわかります。

素材等は1階のものにならって復原しています。

The third exhibition room was formerly used as a public hall. Local people could use it for various purposes, and some events for children were conducted here. There is a glorious plaster archway in this room, and a clock made by Allgemeine Company in Germany was placed above the stage on the west side of the room. The floor was covered with tatamis when the room was wed as a public hall. 

入館料も安く、混雑もしていない施設ですので、気軽にまったりと見学できました
