On the second day of my travel in Nagano, 26th, I first photographed Tokyu 5200 Series exhibited at Shiroshita Station. 5200 Series has the body made from both stainless steel and carbon steel. It had been in service on Tokyu Toyoko Line, Den-en-toshi Line, and Oimachi Line between 1958 and 1986, and Ueda Electric Railway Bessho Line between 1986 and 1993. Some railfans called "Hot-water Bottle" or "Silver Frog" because of its corrugated stainless steel body looking like the first 5000 Series, which is nicknamed "Green Frog" by them. On Bessho Line, one of two cabbed carriages converted to the one without motor and pantograph. After the retirement, the motored one (Deha 5201) has been preserved and listed in the Mechanical Engineering Heritage in Japan. On the other hand, the non-motored one (Kuha 5251) functions as a repository at Shimonogo Railyard. In 2006, it reequipped a fake pantograph which Alpico Kotsu 5000 Series had had. Between July 23rd and September 27th, Kuha 5251 showed at Shiroshita Station, which functioned as the temporary terminal. I shot a photograph of Kuha 5251 in a train over the front window because I didn't have much time to transfer to a bus. I had wanted to see 5200 Series for a long time, which came true.
